About
Freebridge Community Housing is the largest not-for-profit housing provider in West Norfolk, managing close to 7,000 homes, with around half located in and around King’s Lynn. Established in 2006, Freebridge has focused on improving its housing stock, community development, and customer engagement. Its vision is “Developing Homes and Creating Opportunities for People within West Norfolk.”
Performance & Accountability
Regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing (code L4463), Freebridge currently holds top ratings for governance (G1) and viability (V1), confirmed through a stability check in December 2021. It is financially stable and a member of the Housing Ombudsman Scheme. Ombudsman cases have included disputes about access to shareholder registers and the handling of damp and mould reports.
Strategic Direction
Freebridge continues to balance maintaining and improving existing stock with investing in neighbourhoods and services. The organisation works closely with local partners to tackle wider social issues, including anti-social behaviour, community development, and resident involvement.
Resident Experience
Freebridge highlights customer engagement as a priority, aiming to evolve services to meet changing needs. Ombudsman complaints reflect resident frustrations with damp and mould responses and governance transparency, alongside broader sector themes such as repairs and communication.
